    Job Description

    INGRAM CONTENT GROUP (ICG) is hiring for a MANAGER, COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT SERVICES to join our team in LAVERGNE, TN (Greater Nashville Area).  We’re looking for someone to manage all aspects of the service, sales support, and program development for Standing Order Programs, iCurate® Services, and other public library and/or K12-focused collection development services as assigned.  Supervises assigned collection development staff.  Reviews titles and stays abreast of professional news in the library, retail, and publishing worlds; ensures Ingram Service offerings are competitive. Edits monthly customer newsletter and assists with ILS Marketing initiatives. Works in relevant applications and takes one of the leading roles in troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving applications.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • ALA-accredited MLS, MLIS, or MSIS degree – library specific
    • 3 years of SQL or other relational database experience
    • 5 years of public library experience, including at least 1 year in Collection Development or Acquisitions
    • 1 year of Supervisory experience

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • Experience thinking analytically and problem-solving
    • Personal Computing skills to include MS Office programs and SQL or equivalent
    • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
    • Ability to receive and give information in a courteous manner over the telephone, via electronic communication, during presentations, or in person
    • Ability to apply new knowledge, technology, and procedure to job responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluates demand and develops enhancements and/or new programs & services as approved by ILS Leadership.
    • Collaborates with IT to create specifications and upgrades, and takes an advisory role on development, testing, and launch.
    • Collaborates with Collection Development Data Manager to ingest and utilize customer and publisher data as needed to deliver iCurate® Services.
    • Coordinates with Sales and Marketing about Sales training and Customer communication for Programs and other Collection Development services and initiatives.
    • Manages all Standing Order Program functions including timeliness of offering additions.
    • Takes leadership role to work with Sales and Marketing to direct and support efforts to grow Program and iCurate® services’ enrollments and Sales; providing demos for prospective customers and direct support for existing customers as necessary.
    • Manages and coordinates content on behalf of department for Collection Development eNewsletter; writes editorial columns and develops internal/external training materials; Edits departmental content.
