    Job Description

    Ingram Content Group (ICG) **** is hiring for a Metadata Operations Assistant to contribute to our Consortium team in Minneapolis, MN.

    We are seeking an innovative individual with a passion for books to work in our Northeast Minneapolis office. In this role, you will work with independent publishers and support the metadata content management team with title setup and basic quality control on bibliographic data and images, in addition to other administrative duties as needed. You will assist the Supervisor, Operations & Metadata with operational data entry and client outreach. You’ll also assist the Metadata Support Specialist with metadata maintenance in our bibliographic data system. In addition, you will serve as first point of contact for metadata support (print and digital) and escalate as needed.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent year for year directly related experience
    • 1 year of experience in marketing, book publishing, book industry, account support, client administration, data management, or related field

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience working with databases
    • Book industry experience or strong interest in books

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assists in inputting/ingestion of and maintaining client title metadata.
    • Performs regular data auditing activities to raise and maintain the quality of product metadata, with an eye to enhancing product discoverability and display to customers.
    • Assists with the updating and availability of internal and client-facing support documentation.
    • Implements processes and adhere to standards for title metadata management, resulting in high data integrity and satisfactory audit practices.
    • Updates and monitor established backlist title data.
    • Assists in auditing Edelweiss catalog data for sales conferences.
    • Reviews backlist and frontlist metadata health on a consistent basis to ensure metadata is optimized for distribution partners and online searching; escalating issues as needed.
    • Assists in client outreach for metadata management communications to client publishers on a seasonal basis, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Coordinates design, proofreading, and copyediting related to sales and marketing materials: sell sheets, trade show materials, newsletter banners, print and online ads, etc.
