    TITLE: RN(Registered Nurse) Behavioral Health
    LOCATION: ELGIN, OKLAHOMA

    SUMMARY:
    The Behavioral Health Staff Registered Nurse holds a shift accountability to provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the medical center.
    Maintains clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
    -Directs and supervises LPNs, MHTs, Nurse Techs
    -Ensure shift report is given daily
    -Assign patients to each team member and other unit duties
    -Assign meal breaks to all team members
    -Completes acuity sheet every shift
    -Ensure all medication education is complete per schedule, and all first doses are completed and found in charts
    -Administer medications to include educating patients and families indication use and side effects to include immunizations available during their shift
    -Ensure immunizations are given and appropriate paperwork is completed
    -Review birth certificate and immunization status and call guardians to request
    -Ensure medication discrepancies are resolved at end of shift
    -Ensure discharge medications information is provided in terms patient/family can understand and document
    -Ensure restraint/seclusion log is completed appropriately per event
    -Report patient/team member On-job injuries to supervisor immediately
    -Complete occurrence report for all unusual events/incidents
    -Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
    -Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patient’s conditions
    -Record patients' medical information and vital signs
    -Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions: and provide ongoing patient family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and intervention
    -Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
    -Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition
    -Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity
    -Assist with coordinating discharge plan and care
    -Ensure any signatures needed in charts are completed
    -Attend morning meeting with Dr. and Therapist
    -Reports and updates staffing hours/variance to supervisor every shift
    -Maintain the safety of the Milieu
    -Ensure patient safety and staff supervision and intervention to include: Properly implement behavioral medical emergency protocol
    -Assist with new hire training/preceptor
    -Promote customer service (Patients, Families, Visitors, Team Members, Physicians)

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    Must possess a current RN(Registered Nurse) License for the State of Oklahoma
    Current BLS certification
    MAB-Managing Aggressive Behavior within 30 days of hire
    First Aide within 30 days of hire

    ADDITIONAL INFO:
    Position reports to the Behavioral Health Administrator and a Manager for each unit.
    Facility is over 150 beds between Acute and Behavioral Health.
    There is 4 night shift openings due to growth. Will rotate weekends( @ 1 per month)
    Patient load is a mix of age groups – Children, Adolescents, and Adults. There are more (around double) the amount of Adolescents (around 20) than children and adults.
    The Behavioral Health center has around 40 total patients.
    The range is between 25hr-40hr depending on experience. Great benefit package that includes relocation reimbursement of up to 10K and a longevity incentive.
