    Job Description

    Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the Operations Officer is responsible for the daily management of the healthcare organization.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    Typical responsibilities and duties of the Operations Officer include, but are not limited to:

    · Implements general policies established by the Board of Directors and advises the administration.

    · Plans, develops and approves specific operational policies, programs, and procedures.

    · Coordinates the development of long-range and annual (business) plans.

    · Develops, maintains and administers a sound organizational plan; initiates improvements as necessary; utilize statistical and accounting inputs in development and tracking of plan progress.

    · Monitors policies relating to personnel actions, training and professional development programs.

    · Attends conferences, workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current developments in the healthcare field.

    · Provides advice and recommendations to the CEO about construction, alterations, maintenance, materials, supplies, equipment and services not provided in approved plans and/or budgets.

    · Establishes program to ensure that the organization is operating in accordance with all applicable laws.

    · Establishes program for the care and maintenance of all physical assets and facilities.

    · Works with subordinate department heads to schedule, supervise and direct the work of all employees.

    · Establishes programs to manage all aspects of the organization’s activities to ensure and maintain the quality of products and services provided by the organization.

    · With CEO, has authority over inter-departmental matters and implements policies concerning employee-employer relations.

    · With CEO and providers, establishes and approves workloads, methods and performance standards.

    · Performs other duties as directed by the CEO.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Masters degree in Business Administration, medical administration, Management Operations, Human Resource Management, or related fields. Seven or more years of increasingly responsible management/supervisory experience in public, private, or non-profits sector including four years performing the duties of an operations officer. Active knowledge of and ability to interpret federal, state, and county regulations and statutes. Must have good technical writing skills.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Must be able to endure stress related to budget, human resource and other management issues.

    Must have physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, have the ability to actively participate in disciplinary sessions; physically access all areas of our facilities to examine their condition and supervise employees; must be able to perform computer and word processing functions relevant to the position.

    Must possess the ability to work with employees from varying socio-economic backgrounds and ethnic groups. May be required to travel as directed by the CEO. Position is 40 hours per week unless otherwise indicated.
