    Job Description

    SUMMARY        

    The Technical Engineer Manager position identifies, develops, oversees, and directly executes the development and implementation of facility infrastructure and thermoforming manufacturing processes to maintain the facility and proper product functionality as well as cost-efficiency. They ensure the technical team and manufacturing team work together cohesively and are responsible for the development and continuous improvement of safety, equipment, and facilities to aid in the manufacturing process. Initiates, leads, and directly works alongside assigned technical, maintenance, and production personnel as assigned. The position reports to and is under the direction of the Conyers Plant Manager. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTION/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee, manage, and assist to perform all required process and infrastructure requirements
    • Ensure all manufacturing, safety, engineering, and regulatory policies and procedures are implemented, documented, and maintained at all times to sustain a safe, efficient, and healthy facility and work environment. 
    • Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes and manages for high-performance 
    • Oversees and is responsible for the attainment of the plant budget as it relates to the technical group expenses and production performance from ongoing equipment and personnel capabilities.
    • Ensures the technical quality of product process and infrastructure meets all specifications. Responsible for continuous improvement plans/projects to KPIs such as yield, set up times, MTBF.
    • Collaborate with corporate research and development, quality assurance, and production to troubleshoot and install preventative actions for sustained efficiency with products and tooling/fixtures.
    • Lead and assist as assigned other duties, facilities projects, and priorities.
    • Assists in and ensures that the facilities are maintained in accordance with local laws and regulations
    • Manages and provides detailed technical guidance and training to thermoforming machine operators and maintenance technicians.
    • Develops STD technical training documents.
    • Follows Product  Safety and Quality SQF Standards & general safety protocols
    • Demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
    • Read, analyze, and interpret common industrial, manufacturing, and technical procedures, professional journals, schematics, diagrams, drawings, and blueprints. 
    • Define manufacturing problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • 15% Travel may be required

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or five to eight years related thermoforming experience and/or training.  Extrusion experience is a plus. 
    • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project; design software and CAD.
    • Knowledge in Lean/6-sigma problem-solving. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under minimal supervision.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Communication: Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both in writing and verbally with internal and external key stakeholders. Write reports, business correspondence, assembly instructions, and procedural manuals. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or other members of the manufacturing community. Analytical/Problem-Solving Aptitude:

    • Mechanical and Electrical

    Organizational:

    • Ability to organize projects and large amounts of technical data efficiently and present to senior leadership with high attention to detail.
