DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

This is an opportunity to join our rapidly growing Innovation team. Our Innovation team identifies, studies, and develops new products and services for FORVIS. We are like an internal business incubator and accelerator within a large national company. Within our National Office, FORVIS is looking to hire an Innovation Intern with the ability to adapt and who is excited to work with a high-performing team on products that impact people across the country every day. When we use the term products, we are referring to software-based products that can be sold to clients or developed as an internal tool to better service our clients. The Innovation Intern has some level of understanding and an interest in product management, product development, and market research and is highly organized to ensure that FORVIS’ products solve the right "it" for clients. This position requires abilities in the areas of discipline, leadership, organizational, and operational skills. It is our goal to align the right person with the right team so that together we can create the biggest impact.

This innovation role is an opportunity to grow and develop a unique skillset in innovation and product development. It is important that this individual has a positive attitude and a perspective that what they are working on will make a difference to people across the country.

• Learn from team leaders and others the skills and procedures necessary to independently study and evaluate a new idea, perform market research and economic analysis, and synthesize the research into a clearly written document.

• Apply knowledge gained throughout the educational experience related to communication, marketing, and products they readily use daily to create marketing documentation, and written documentation regarding these products and/or services that FORVIS may be developing. The exemplary individual in this area may also create and develop presentations relating to such products and services.

• There is the potential in this role that the individual if demonstrating the right interest and capabilities could get involved in the design of software products by understanding some fundamentals of product development and participate in that process by creating some fundamental product prototypes.

• Actively participate and contribute to new product spark board, brainwriting, and other creative product ideation activities.

• Learn to manage and aid in the management of a product from its infancy in ideation, through the product validation, feasibility, and funding processes, and into the development stage of the product lifecycle.

• Prepare and keep a journal of the specific tasks and assignments performed over the course of the internship; be prepared to discuss the internship experience with the Director of Innovation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university

• Must be a third or fourth-year college student (75+ credit hours) and have declared a Business major or related field of study

• Innovation Interns are expected to work between 16 and 18 hours per week on a regularly scheduled basis

• Work schedules are set by the direct supervisor, and class schedules and student life commitments are taken into consideration

• Applicants for positions with FORVIS must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
