Innovative Engineering and Consulting is a civil engineering design, consulting, and land surveying firm located in Whitestown, Indiana. Our clients are located throughout Indiana and nationally. Our office is conveniently located off of I-65. Our projects range from small commercial and retail, industrial, large residential and mixed-use developments.     The Survey CAD technician is a full-time permanent position and is an integral part of the day-to-day operations between the survey department and design department. The individual in this position will interact with staff, consultants, and clients as instructed by the Director of Engineering and senior management. The work environment will require the individual to work alone and within small teams on a variety of tasks. This is an in-office position with minor field work. The successful candidate will have a proven record of diverse survey projects and engineering graphical skills showing a high level of competency in civil engineering and survey projects.

    Engineering Support

    • Create accurate existing site condition drawings to be used in developing survey documents and as a base for site design
    • Maintain accurate up to date digital drawing bases files and data from the field
    • Provide survey research as required and directed by the Registered Land Surveyor
    • Be able to create production drawings for multiple survey types, plats, boundaries, corridors, and legal descriptions
    • Ability to accurately import field data and determine the quality of the field data
    • Ability to calculate points for construction field staking
    • Familiarity with creating gravity pipe networks from written and electronic field data
    • Ability to learn new software techniques and streamline the workflow utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Other tasks that may be assigned

    Education and Experience Requirement

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • A plus if you have an associates or college degree in CAD and engineering graphics
    • 1-3 years of experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Experience creating and modifying AutoCAD based survey drawings and documents.
    • Microsoft; Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
    • Ability to research on-line with a variety of computer skills and tools
    • Outside client interactions and relationships.
