Inpatient Spine / Joint: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to work in The University of Maryland Spine & Joint Program. Our programs offer comprehensive, state-of-the-art evaluation and non-surgical and surgical treatment of all spinal & joint disorders.
This position is 4 10's Monday - Friday. No call & No weekend coverage!
The NP/PA performs an examination, evaluation, assessment and interpretation of clinical data to provide care to the patients undergoing treatment for fractures, degenerative spine pathology, osteomyelitis, and spinal procedures. Professional practice is in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. The University of Maryland Department of Orthopaedics serves as a referral center for patients in Maryland and beyond.
In this role, you will help care for orthopaedic patients in an inpatient setting while working with well-respected spine and joint arthroplasty surgeons in a premier academic hospital center as well as working in collaboration with residents and fellows.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Interview patients for health history and perform physical examination.
• Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Document H & P, progress notes, admission notes and discharge summaries.
• Coordinate and execute recommended pre- and post-operative care.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement meetings.

Additional Information
Pay Range: $54.34 - $77.08
