    Inpria, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, has an immediate opening for an entry-level staff engineer focused on SEM & thin-film metrology on site in Corvallis, OR.  We seek an enthusiastic and conscientious candidate to join our diverse and talented R&D team as we extend the limits of optical lithography.  This hands-on position carries responsibilities for SEM, ellipsometry, and development rate monitor (DRM) analyses and unit-process development for continuous process improvement.  In our collegial, science-focused R&D team, technical growth and new skill development are a key part of our innovation DNA.  At Inpria, your experience in electron microscopy, electro-optical thin-film characterization, and a demonstrated record of lab safety and teamwork can help deliver advanced materials to our customers, extend Moore’s Law, and provide exciting career growth opportunities in a dynamic global industry. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Execute analytical SEM metrology on high-value EUV-patterned wafers using standard methodologies.
    • Design and execute experiments to measure thin film development rates in collaboration with resist chemists.
    • Regularly characterize, maintain, and improve SEM and DRM metrology processes and methodologies.
    • Troubleshoot ellipsometry and DRM tool issues and perform basic periodic calibration and maintenance.
    • Spin-coat, expose, and process thin films for characterization.
    • Work-up and analyze data and present findings to the R&D team.

    KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS in chemistry, physics, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • At least one year of physics coursework on electromagnetism
    • Working knowledge of Excel, JMP, or equivalent
    • SEM, high-vacuum, and/or x-ray instrumentation experience highly valued
    • Programing (MATLAB, VBA, Python, other) experience a plus
    • Active and effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills in English
    • Self-motivated and proactive in achieving goals
    • Teamwork skills to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative research environment with limited hands-on supervision
    • Physical ability to use keyboard and mouse for computer data analysis and presentation.
