    Input Technology Solutions is currently hiring a Library Technician at the Washington Navy Yard (WNY).

     

    This position would support a potential opportunity that we hope to be awarded to support The Naval History and Heritage Command (NHHC) at the Washington Navy Yard (WNY). If successful, the position starts on 25 September 2022.

     

    NHHC is composed of 42 facilities in 13 geographic locations that includes the Navy Library, 10 Museums, a Heritage Center, and the Historic ship Nautilus. NHHC's mission is to:

     

    • Collect, preserve, protect, and make available the artifacts, documents, and art that best embody our naval history and heritage for present and future generations.
    • Advance the knowledge of naval history and heritage through professional research, analysis, interpretation, products, and services.
    • Remind America of its need to maintain a strong Navy and Marine Corps to protect its citizens, their freedoms, and the nation's maritime history

       

      Remote Work: The work will be performed at the Washington Navy Yard; however, the ability to work from home from time to time, based off of successful performance, can be approved.

       

      Qualifications:

      • 2 years of experience providing library related support.
      • Currently has and will maintain favorable results for a National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI).

         

        Task:

        Tasks include but not limited to the following:

      • Provide library support services to ensure efficient operations and effective collections management.
      • Supporting typical library functions to include basic circulation and collection management tasks (shelf-reading, re-shelving, stack maintenance, inventorying, cleaning/dusting)
      • Digitizing and organizing documents
      • Inputting data and/or metadata into library systems, databases, and other documents
      • Reproducing, collating, transcribing, and reviewing relevant documents
      • Developing and designing document templates
      • Compiling information in support of reference requests, publications, or historical products
      • Assisting with Library Branch information technology and equipment
      • Editing written documents and digital files
      • Office coverage, task management, and follow-up of phone calls, meetings, email requests, and various other forms of correspondence.
      • Follow-up to ensure that all tasks are completed on schedule and according to expectations
