Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to be hired as an Outsource Accounting Services “OAS” Accountant for the firm and apply your accounting knowledge to a variety of our clients. This role will focus on clients of varying sizes and industries. The OAS Group at our firm has limited travel requirements (within a 50 mile radius). This position is client facing and requires interaction with all levels at our clients as well as internally within the firm. This is a full-time position with our organization based in Rochester, NY. Remote work or a flexible/hybrid working environment is possible.

Responsibilities: (would vary based on the specific client engagements that change during the year)

• Becoming familiar with the firm's policies, accounting procedures, and technical resources.

• Project based accounting and bookkeeping work for various local clients.

• Learn how to prepare a full accrual, month end close.

• Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and financial information reporting.

• Analyzing general ledger process, identify, clean up and resolve irregularities that occur to ensure the financial statements are accurately prepared.

• Communicating reporting requirements with client internal departments.

• Assisting clients with their financial statement reporting processes including cash flow and disclosures.

• Supporting the Senior/Manager at the firm through maintaining a good working relationship with client personnel and other team members and demonstrating an awareness of the client's business.

• Promptly informing the appropriate person of any difficulties that you may experience with an assignment/task that could affect our scheduled deadlines.

   

  Requirements:

  Qualified candidates should have excellent communication skills, self-confidence, and be self-motivated and capable of working productively in a professional environment. Must be conscientious, detailed-oriented and have excellent organizational skills. Associates degree is required along with a minimum 3.0 GPA Basic knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications is required; experience with financial/accounting software applications is a plus. Internship assignments involving accounting or auditing experience is also a plus.
