    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with an award-winning and reputable manufacturing company in Rochester, NY to recruit a Senior Corporate Accountant.

    Position Summary:

    The CFO is seeking a self-starting Senior Accountant with a minimum of 4 years of experience with a high level of energy, strong personal initiative, and interpersonal skills to partner with the Corporate Controller, Sales Team, Finance, and operations personnel to help ensure sales, cash receipts, customer account adjustment transactions, and accruals are processed regularly and accurately. The Senior Accountant will participate in the FP&A process by providing accurate reporting.

    The Senior Accountant must be flexible, organized, and able to develop a deep understanding of the Company’s internal controls, ERP systems, and support the accounting team and business processes.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Preparing and posting journal entries into the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
    • Participate in the month-end closing process including reconciling gross and miscellaneous sales, customer amortizations and returns & allowances, recording A/R reserves/allowances and reconciling, reconciling customer advances, recording appropriate journal entries to the general ledger.
    • Researching and responding to actual vs budget/forecast variances and making necessary journal entries.
    • Preparing various sales trend and variance reports to budget/forecast.
    • Reviewing and summarizing CFA’s and working closely with the Sales Team ensuring accuracy of information used in the month close and budget/forecast processes.
    • Calculating and monitoring customer amortizations and recording appropriate journal entries into the general ledger.
    • Preparing account balances & reconciliations, including researching account balance discrepancies and making appropriate adjustments.
    • Understanding how detailed project accounting schedule are posted to the general ledger and reported on the financial statements.
    • Understanding accounting for intercompany sales and eliminations and how transactions are posted to the general ledger and reported.
    • Assisting and a key contributor to year-end audits, bank field examinations, and the Company’s FP&A process.
    • Recommending internal controls and process improvements facilitating deliverables.

     

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of related experience; current or prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks.
    • Proficient with US GAAP and accounting procedures.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Applications and ERP systems, including Excel.
