Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a fast growing manufacturing company to recruit a Sales and Business Development Manager in Rochester, NY.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for helping the organization to obtain better brand recognition and financial growth within the medical market. They will research this market to determine field of play for existing product and determine if new product development is appropriate as well. Their primary role will be to identify new opportunities available based on the core competencies to with market needs and ranked based on a profitability analysis and risk assessment on product to market entry. Additional duties include comparing current sales numbers to desired quotas, meeting with upper management to discuss their progress. Upon completion of market research project, it would be expected that the BDM would transition into a full time Market Sales Manager.
Specific Duties:
- Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas for potential clients
- Attend industry specific tradeshows to identify new opportunities, cultivate brand
- awareness and research market trends and players.
- Contacting potential clients to establish a business relationship and meet with them
- Develop new sales areas and improving sales through various methods
- Research the latest in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business
- Collaborate with sales and design team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers
- and profit goals
- Develop a strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position
- and competition to keep business competitive
- Build market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships.
- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and
- Locate and propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners.
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and
- Recommend equity investments. Examine risks and potentials for business opportunities.
- Estimate customer’s needs and goals.
- Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts;
- and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Plan, develop and oversee the overall business development strategy for company financial
- success
- Conduct regular market research through attendance at various educational conferences,
- tradeshows, symposiums, etc.
- Develop sales strategy and onboard new customers, Negotiate deals.
- Build strong relationships (networking) with industry professionals, competitors, vendors and
- other personnel
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical area or equivalent work experience.
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years’ work experience in related industries
- 5+ years’ project management and/or leading teams preferred
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills to Sr. level personnel, both written and
- verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely
- MS Office, Minitab, JMP Pro, or equivalent software skills
- Must be a critical thinker, problem solver and possess the technical skills required to create proposals and find solutions to meet future customer requirements, such as using company resources, technologies
- Excellent organizational skills to meet goals, set priorities and hit deadlines
