    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a reputable and respected human services organization in Rochester to recruit a Finance Director.

    Position Summary:

    The Finance Director reports to the Executive Director and is a key member of the executive team and is responsible for all accounting and finance functions for the organization, including supervising and managing the finance team, creating and maintaining financial controls and procedures, cash management, and being the financial liaison and member of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee meetings.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervising, training, and evaluating the finance team, including, staff accountants, accounts payable, and payroll.
    • Preparing and reviewing financial statements and leading the audit.
    • Creating and implementing changes and additions to the agency’s accounting policies and procedures.
    • Developing strong internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
    • Ensuring accurate and timely recording and reporting of all financial transactions and presenting the agency’s financial position.
    • Establishing budgetary control.
    • Managing risk management and cash operations, including custody of agency funds.
    • Creating and maintaining internal audit programs.
    • Providing review and appraisal of the agency’s programs for the acquisition, accounting, maintenance, and disposition for the agency’s property owned or leased.
    • Providing funder reports as requested.
    • Attending, presenting, and serving on staff, board, and finance committee meetings.
    • Accessing community resources to assist the agency and attending community meetings and events.
    • Additional projects and duties as assigned.

     

    Requirements:

    • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree is highly desired.
    • A minimum of 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit and must have 2 or more years of supervisory experience.
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and accounting software and systems.
    • Excellent leadership skills: ability to effectively communicate and lead the finance team.
    • Proficient with Federal, State, and Local government grant and contract reporting, 990 filing requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
