    Our Client:

    Our client is an industry-leading photonics company and they are looking for an Accountant to join their team. This will be an onsite position based out of their facility near Rochester, NY with salary in the $60-65k range.     Who We’re Looking For:

    Do you enjoy working on the financial transactions of a company? Are you good at organizing and maintaining financial data? In this role, you will be inputting A/P and A/R daily into the organization’s ERP system. You will also be coding and processing invoices and payments and tracking them in the system. Other responsibilities include reconciliations, general ledger, journal entries, as well as assisting with month-end close and the annual audit. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers will round out the right candidate for this role.

    What to Expect as an Accountant:

    • Maintain and reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
    • Under the direction of the Controller, manage the accounting for the accounts payable system,
    • including maintenance of data files, general ledger, and subsequent journal entries
    • Manage the Accounts Receivable system, including regular review of aging AR, receiving, and posting payments, collection efforts and recommendations for updated customer credit
    • Assist with annual financial audit
    • Assist in annual physical inventory including planning, counting and reconciliation of inventory
    • variances
    • Qualify customers for credit limits and setting terms
    • Assist in the month end closing process and work closing with the overseas counterpart regarding any
    • forth coming accounting process changes and intercompany accounts
    • Complete and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns
    • Work with the Controller to create, produce and maintain reporting regarding monthly, quarterly and
    • annual KPI reporting
    • Cross train in order entry, order processing and acknowledgements

    Qualifications for Success:

    • Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
    • 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and be proficient in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
    • Outstanding organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems - Microsoft Navision or Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience desired
    • Advanced Excel knowledge preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface with peers, supervisors, customers, and suppliers
