    Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a highly respected and valued nonprofit organization in Rochester, NY to recruit an Accounting Manager.

    Position Summary:

    The Director of Finance is seeking a self-starting Accounting Manager to lead a team of 3 direct reports as well as being a key member of the finance team. The Accounting Manager reports directly to Director of Finance and is responsible for all accounting and finance functions for the organization, including maintaining the general ledger, managing the audits, assisting with preparation of the budgets, preparing financial statements and reports, and analyzing key financial data to decision making.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Preparing and posting journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.
    • Coordinating, preparing, and reviewing month- and year-end close process.
    • Monitoring accounts receivables and reviewing and reconciling accounts as necessary.
    • Performing statistical analysis of cash flow and budgets.
    • Assisting in budget preparation, implementation, and control.
    • Assisting in preparing complex financial reports, compiling data, and interpreting legal reporting requirements and regulations.
    • Creating and maintaining statistical reports.
    • Plan and monitoring timeline to meet strict deadlines in reporting regulations.
    • Researching and analyzing financial data.
    • Retrieving and organizing data into required reporting formats.
    • Analyzing data to identify financial discrepancies.
    • Ensuring corrections or changes are implemented properly.
    • Maintaining communication with internal external client’s financial matters.
    • Assisting in the development and revision of policies and procedures.
    • Reviewing proposed contracts for adherence to rules and regulations.

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate or nonprofit accounting. Net deficit funding, OMH and OASAS are desired.
    • Ability to maintain professional practices and confidentiality.
    • Ability to establish relationships with and influence complex networks of others whose cooperation is needed for success of programs and actions.
    • Ability to establish performance goals and achieve appropriate timelines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly proficient in GAAP and nonprofit and/or governmental agencies.
    • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft applications, including Excel.
    • Excellent decision-making, organizational skills, and ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
