Position Summary
We are a fast-paced, growing metal fabrication company seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Inside Sales Representative to join our team. This position plays a critical role in developing new customer relationships, managing quotes, and driving successful project execution from the inside out. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the initial point of contact for potential and existing customers, fostering strong business relationships through excellent communication and service.
Receive, assess, and respond to customer inquiries and RFQs (Requests for Quotation) promptly and professionally.
Prepare and submit accurate job estimates and quotes within a 24-hour turnaround window.
Maintain full ownership of job pricing, order entry, and sales documentation through to completion.
Collaborate daily with the Production Manager to ensure an accurate understanding of production schedules, lead times, and capacity.
Coordinate with the Purchasing Agent to confirm material pricing, availability, and lead times to ensure accurate job costing and scheduling.
Understand customer expectations and communicate them effectively to internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Monitor the status of active jobs to provide updates and ensure customer satisfaction.
Manage and track sales metrics, order history, and pricing consistency
Stay up to date with industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing to support strategic pricing decisions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in inside sales, estimating, or account management—preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be comfortable engaging with customers, production staff, and vendors.
Excellent estimating and financial acumen; ability to price jobs accurately and competitively.
Self-motivated and confident decision-maker who thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and remain detail-focused under pressure.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, prints, and measurement specifications.
Proficiency with job costing software, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
Knowledge of metal materials, fabrication processes, and lead time management is a strong plus.
