    Job Title: Counter Sales / Estimator – Lumber & Building Materials

    Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $50,000 – $70,000 per year (based on experience)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inside Counter Sales / Estimator to join our fast-paced and customer-focused lumber and building materials team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers and contractors, providing accurate estimates, and helping bring construction projects to life.

    As a key member of our sales team, you will work at the sales counter, assisting customers, preparing estimates, and ensuring a seamless purchasing experience from start to finish.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide exceptional customer service to walk-in customers, contractors, and phone inquiries

    Prepare accurate and timely material estimates for residential and light commercial projects

    Develop a strong understanding of lumber and building material products, pricing, and sales terms (including warranties, returns, and special orders)

    Collaborate with the General Manager and sales team to meet and exceed sales goals

    Process orders and follow up on special orders to ensure timely delivery

    Maintain organized and accurate records of estimates, orders, and customer interactions

    Support daily counter sales operations in a fast-paced environment

    Qualifications & Skills

    Experience in construction estimating or inside sales (preferred)

    Knowledge of building materials and construction processes is a plus

    Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to actively listen

    Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment

    Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Proficient with basic office and computer systems

    Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

    Schedule

    Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (shift may vary: 7–4 or 8–5)

    Rotating Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
