Job Description

LOCATION  Austin, TX • Temporarily remote, until January 2021 (Spring Semester 2021)

PAY $10 an hour

DESCRIPTION We’re looking for a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to assist in the execution of various elements of marketing for Social Media Networks. This remote position will incorporate skillsets such as Social Media, Marketing, Advertising, SEO, Graphic Design, and Content Creation.

The ideal candidate is on social media constantly but is not distracted by their phone in the workplace. They should be a creative person, with an eye for what looks good (though they don’t need any experience with graphic design). They will have a passion for marketing and technology. The ideal candidate is a Junior or Senior in college, with some experience under their belt but eager to learn more and excited about the prospect of starting a career in the digital marketing field after they graduate. Above all, they will be able to efficiently work remotely until January 2021. 

This is a flexible, remote internship position with future growth opportunities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES You will be trained & assist in all of the following 

• Create Copy for Posts 
• Create Graphics for Posts (using Promo & Canva) 
• Schedule Posts (Hootsuite, SEMrush, & Later) 
• Assist with Ad Campaign Creation & Management (Facebook Ads Manager) 
• Strategic Social Media Engagement (liking comments, replying, answering messages, unfollowing, and liking relevant posts)
• Creating & Optimizing Social Media Accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, & Pinterest)

REQUIREMENTS 

• Experience with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Pinterest & TikTok a plus. 
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly  
• Intuitive with social media and technology as a whole 
• Ability to know what looks aesthetically pleasing and what doesn’t 
• Excellent written communication skills 
• Excellent interpersonal skills

EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED) 

• 1 year Marketing OR;
• 1 year Social Media OR; 
• 1 year Graphic Design OR; 
• 1 year Entrepreneurship OR;
• 1 year Digital Marketing OR;
• 1 year Computer Science
• Education: Currently enrolled in college or higher
