    Job Description

    The Insmed Summer Internship Program gives students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment, receive mentoring from highly skilled professionals and work on dynamic team projects. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship that will begin May 28, 2019 until August 16, 2019. The intern will be assigned goals and objectives that will support the strategic business plan of the team. The Internship Program culminates with each Intern presenting on their Insmed experience to members of our staff.

    The role of the Global Corporate and Healthcare Compliance Summer Intern is to support projects and operations across the department with broad exposure and responsibilities across the 7 Elements of a Compliance Program (Office of Inspector General Guidance).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work across Corporate and Healthcare Compliance areas including Compliance Training, Compliance Policies and Compliance Monitoring and Auditing on special projects or ongoing operations as assigned
    • Support the Compliance and Auditing team on the 2019 plan including conducting monitoring, analyzing data, summarizing observations and tracking remediation
    • Special projects may include creating Compliance training based on policies and real-life case-based scenarios
    • Provide general support for the department as needed  
    • Work cross-functionally across the organization (marketing, sales, R&D, Medical Affairs) on above-listed activities
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Knowledge of US and global healthcare compliance regulations, laws and standards
    • Preference for individuals considering a a career in healthcare or pharmaceutical compliance
    • Enrolled in graduate school (e.g. MJ Healthcare Compliance, JD, MBA)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills also required
    • Enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment with talented professionals
    • Ability to work independently and professionally with the organization
    • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written). 
    • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness. 
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Must successfully exhibit Insmed’s five (5) core corporate competencies of: Excellence, Accountability, Driven, Collaborative and Solutions; along with any other position specific competencies. 
    • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.
