    Position Title: Inspector, Electrical / IT - Talent Community

    Location: Los Angeles, California (Candidates must be able and willing to commute to Los Angeles, CA)

    Position Description Summary

    The Electrical / IT Inspector will support CLMI client’s Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within CLMI client’s Capital Improvement Program.

    Candidates must possess a current ICC certification as Commercial Electrical Inspector to apply.

    Successfully hired Candidates must provide Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years and Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years, prior to assignment

    Successfully hired candidates must have client badge prior to official start.

    Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the

    Contractor’s construction schedule.

    Professional Experience Level/Minimum Qualifications

    Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have 3 years or more experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.

    Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years Training & knowledge of NFPA -70, 70E, & 72.

    Fall protection and harness training.

    Preferred Qualifications and Experience

    Experience at the journey-level as an electrician, with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings.

    Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects.

    Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and city officials.

    Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies, ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards.

    Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency. A strong understanding of diverse code requirements.

    Excellent communication and time management skills.

    Essential Job Duties

    Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of electrical and IT systems across building and terminal construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications, review and interpret construction documents including blueprints and shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

    Demonstrates strong proficiency in preparing comprehensive daily inspection reports that clearly document the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and HOW of all observed construction activities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and accountability in tracking progress and identifying issues, deficiencies, or safety concerns in a timely manner.

    Verify contractor compliance with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70, 70E, 72) and client-specific standards.

    Track and document time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities

    Assist in validating contractor progress payment requests based on an approved schedule of values.

    Support special inspections and testing activities, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies as needed.

    Perform inspections of electrical installations including, but not limited to:

    Underground utilities and duct banks

    High-voltage switchgear and electrical panels

    Conduit racks, conductors, and grounding systems

    Interior and exterior lighting systems

    Fire life safety systems including smoke/heat detectors and FM-200 suppression systems

    Electrical shutdowns, lockout/tagout procedures, and breaker coordination

    Inspect IT infrastructure installations such as:

    Low-voltage systems (voice/data, security, access control)

    Door card readers, security cameras, and public address (P.A.) systems

    Communication cabling and equipment rooms

    Hardware/Software Knowledge

    Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/document control (i.e., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Xcel, Word, PM Web, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, etc.).

    Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents efficiently, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other inspection documents, with minimal supervision.

    Education/Training

    High school diploma (or equivalent)

    For task on the Airfield, 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.

    Element-Specific Requirements/Notes

    May assume other duties as required/needed.

    May be required to work various shifts, including day, swing, and night.

    Shall be open to work modified schedules, including nights and weekends, as dictated by the contractors' work activities and accelerated project schedules.

    Availability to work overtime as required to meet project deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks is preferred.

    Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000.
