RETIREMENT SERVICES SPECIALIST
We are currently seeking a Retirement Services Specialist to join our team.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for working with clients to adapt and schedule education meetings, assisting in creating presentations and educational materials, conducting enrollment/educational presentations both via web and onsite, tracking participant behavior and assisting with the continued improvement of the educational program to help participants become retirement ready.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under moderate supervision and moderate decision-making:
- Conducts employee education meetings, providing information related to saving for retirement, plan features, investment education and other topics as needed.
- Assists in developing and maintaining presentation materials for participant retirement and investment education meetings.
- Tracks results of education services and participant retirement readiness to identify areas for improvement. Researches industry trends and topics to maintain effectiveness of education program.
- Reviews assigned clients’ retirement plan provisions and investment options to customize presentation materials. Handles client/participant telephone calls, questions and correspondence as needed.
- Uses retirement planning tools designed for plan participants, and assists them with retirement planning strategies.
- Assists internal partners in developing participant communications; manages standard participant email delivery. Assists in maintaining online participant content, particularly in the Retirement Service Center and Employee Service Center.
- Builds productive relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to form a seamless integration of service delivery.
- Follows up on requests in a timely manner to ensure satisfactory conclusion.
- Acts as a resource for team members and other departments
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
- Two or more years’ of experience in the retirement plan or investment industry, specifically focusing on qualified plans is required.
- Experience in training and development is preferred.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS
Retirement plan or investment industry designations such as CEBS, CFP, CPC, QKA or APA is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
- Knowledge of retirement plan industry and able to explain to plan participants basic retirement and investing principals. Good understanding of plan documents and implications of plan provisions.
- Superb communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations covering complex topics in an engaging and easy-to-understand style.
- Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, self-motivated.
- Very strong time management skills; ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to work independently and as a team with a customer focus.
- Strong computer literacy including proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word for Windows, PowerPoint and NetSuite.
- Strong writing skills; competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Strong math skills.
- Presents professional demeanor within the office and with clients and participants.
- Ability to maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment; familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment, as well as, filing systems and business letter writing.
- Ability to converse and conduct group meetings in Spanish is a plus.
