    Installation Technician

    Commercial Stainless, Inc. is seeking a dependable, skilled, and highly motivated Installation Technician to join our field installation team. This position is responsible for installing custom stainless steel, millwork, solid-surface, and foodservice equipment at customer locations throughout the United States.

    The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality workmanship, works well as part of a team, and understands that the installation crew is the final face of our company on every project. This is a travel-intensive position that requires flexibility, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems in the field.

    Responsibilities

    • Install Custom Equipment: Safely and accurately install stainless steel equipment, custom millwork, serving counters, solid-surface components, and related products in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
    • Read Plans and Shop Drawings: Interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, field measurements, and installation instructions to complete work correctly.
    • Perform Skilled Field Work: Measure, level, align, fasten, scribe, trim, assemble, and make field adjustments using hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment.
    • Protect Quality: Inspect materials before and during installation, identify potential issues early, and ensure the completed project meets Commercial Stainless quality standards.
    • Solve Problems in the Field: Work with the Lead Installer, Project Manager, and customer contacts to address site conditions, coordination issues, and unforeseen challenges.
    • Represent the Company: Communicate professionally with general contractors, customers, other trades, and facility personnel while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
    • Work Safely: Follow company safety requirements and all applicable job-site rules, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe material-handling practices.
    • Care for Tools and Equipment: Properly use, maintain, organize, and account for company tools, vehicles, and installation equipment.
    • Travel to Project Sites: Travel frequently to customer locations throughout the United States, including overnight stays and occasional schedule changes based on project needs.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Experience: Prior experience in commercial installation, construction, cabinetry, millwork, metal fabrication, finish carpentry, or a related trade is preferred. We will consider mechanically inclined candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
    • Technical Ability: Comfortable using common hand and power tools. Ability to take accurate measurements and understand basic construction methods is required.
    • Travel Availability: Able and willing to travel extensively, stay overnight, and work a schedule that may vary based on project demands.
    • Physical Requirements: Able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work safely in active construction environments.
    • Driver Requirements: Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
    • Reliability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and follow-through. Must be someone the team can count on when working away from home.
    • Communication: Able to communicate clearly, work cooperatively with others, and represent the company professionally at customer sites.
    • Attention to Detail: Committed to completing work accurately, protecting finished surfaces, and leaving the installation better than you found it.
