Instana is looking for students to participate in project-based internships during the fall or spring semesters. Students will be partnered with a mentor to work on one of several available projects that will improve upon a product our customers already love.

Examples of available and past projects include:

• Develop and deliver the next generation of distributed tracing platform with our Application Monitoring team. You will be processing petabytes of data to help our customers find the bottlenecks in their systems.
• Work on a large scale reactive stream processing pipeline in Java using open source technologies.
• Develop highly scalable machine learning solutions to predict anomalies in complex micro service architectures
• Instana ingests a huge amount of data. Extracting critical information and effectively presenting that information is an ongoing challenge. You will work on analyzing and visualizing this complex multi-dimensional data.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or related area
• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• Eligible to work in the United States
