    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Institutional Giving Manager will work with their supervisor to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate, foundation and government prospects and funders. Outreach will predominantly occur in the Greater Miami area.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and oversee a comprehensive planning calendar for applications and reporting requirements
    • Prepare, write, and review proposals, applications, and sponsorship decks as assigned by supervisor
    • Support Senior Director of Institutional Giving in preparation of funding proposals on an as-needed basis; gather and provide supporting documentation and supplemental materials as required
    • Effectively steward corporate, foundation and government funders through timely and accurate grant reporting, recognition, benefit fulfillment and communication
    • Monitor grant fulfillment processes, working with key staff to ensure their understanding of grant requirements and their respective deadlines
    • Oversee execution of government award contracts and other funding agreements
    • Assist supervisor in development of sample proposals/boilerplate detailing NWS activities for use by other members of the department in their solicitation of prospects
    • Support Senior Director of Institutional Giving in advancing NWS policy goals by coordinating with government entities as needed
    • Liaise with the finance department to gain an in-depth understanding of relevant project budgets, organizational budgets, and additional financial documentation for proposals and reports
    • Assist in identifying, qualifying and cultivating new corporate, foundation and government prospects
    • Work with colleagues in other departments to stay informed about new programs and changes in existing activities
    • Assist in managing the corporate expense budget, ensuring corporate partnership benefits are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner
    • Represent NWS at concert performances, cultivation events, grant panel reviews, and other events in the community
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of fundraising experience with a focus on grant writing; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • High degree of organization and attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines
    • Experience with donor databases; knowledge of Tessitura is an advantage
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Passion for the mission of the New World Symphony and commitment to its values of community, respect, excellence, accountability, and trust

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
