Slingshot Prep, a north Dallas-based test prep and tutoring firm for more than 20 years, is seeking temporary help to teach our innovative vocabulary program, What’s the Word?, to students this summer. The primary requirements are a winning personality and the ability to work with junior high school and high school age students.

Our What’s The Word? program is an intensive vocabulary course that provides students with command of the English language and a competitive advantage in standardized tests. This three-week summer program helps students improve reading comprehension skills, expand vocabulary, increase school grades, raise standardized test scores, impress interviewers, and understand college professors.

What’s the Word is a unique vocabulary program that enables students to add to their speaking and reading vocabularies without memorizing definitions. Every word has a picture, is used in a skit, explained in a paragraph, and found in exercises.

The program runs from mid-June to mid-August. We are looking for teachers for summer sessions, mornings and afternoon classes during each session at 9:00 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 3:30. Total work time is 30 hours per week for 9 weeks.

There is the potential for future work opportunities with Slingshot Prep.

Pay rate will be $35/hour.
