Job Summary:
Cinder Residuals Texas is seeking a skilled and dependable Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Supervisor to oversee and perform instrumentation, controls, and electrical work at our Fairfield, TX facility. This salaried position is responsible for supervising I&E personnel and activities while also performing hands-on technical work as needed. The I&E Supervisor will lead maintenance and reliability efforts for all I&E systems while remaining actively engaged in field troubleshooting, installations, and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead, schedule, and support all I&E maintenance activities and personnel
· Perform hands-on maintenance, calibration, and repair of instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems (PLCs, sensors, motors, VFDs, HMIs, etc.)
· Ensure all I&E work is performed safely and in compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and company policies
· Oversee preventive maintenance programs for I&E systems and track completion
· Manage small projects and installations involving controls, automation, or electrical upgrades
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and control issues in the field
· Coordinate with operations and plant leadership on I&E support for daily needs and outages
· Maintain technical documentation including drawings, loop sheets, and panel layouts
· Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians or apprentices
· Collaborate with outside contractors, vendors, or engineers as needed for projects or major repairs
· Support other Site Operations at the request of an immediate Manager or Plant Manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED required; technical training or associate degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred
· 5+ years of experience in industrial I&E work, including troubleshooting and installation
· 1+ years of supervisory, team lead, or project coordination experience preferred
· Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation platforms
· Familiarity with PLC programming basics and HMI configuration (Allen-Bradley preferred)
· Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
· Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple priorities
· Proficient with multimeters, calibrators, and diagnostic tools
· Valid driver’s license required
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
· Work is performed in an industrial facility, including time in control areas and field conditions with exposure to noise, dust, heat, outdoor elements, and operational hazards
· May involve standing or sitting for extended periods, bending, climbing, using hand tools, and working around heavy equipment or machinery
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights or in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks
· Use of communication devices or computer systems may be required, depending on job function
· PPE must be worn and all safety protocols followed
