We are looking for an experienced, professional CPA to help us continue our successful track record as our Insurance Accounting Auditor.

This individual will report to the CFO. They will be a hands on professional and will hold responsibilities that may include but are not limited to:

· Summarizing and forecasting the Company’s financial status

· Producing and auditing accurate and timely NAIC and other monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to both GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles

· Reporting to and complying with Department of Insurance and other regulatory agencies

· Complying with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting

· Preparing, auditing and filing quarterly and annual returns and working with state and federal tax agencies in the seven states in which we write business and making premium tax payments

· Reconciling Investment Statements

· Processing intercompany expense allocations and intercompany pooling shares for Assets, Liabilities and P&L accounts

· Preparing and auditing general ledger reconciliations

· Coordinating and managing internal and external financial audits

· Providing reinsurance financial reporting

· Providing financial reporting for Board of Directors

· Providing financial reports for external evaluating agencies such as A.M. Best to enhance Company ratings

· Preparing, analyzing and auditing reports including reinsurance recoverable and premium payable, A/P, Investment cash balance

· Proposing and implementing initiatives for efficiency, effectiveness and for cost saving measures

The successful candidate will possess their CPA designation and at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a closely related field, and must have experience with Statutory Accounting Principles. Candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced Excel skills as well as be highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes. He or she will be someone with exceptional integrity and accountability and perform with the highest standards for professional conduct, performance, and character.

In addition, this person should have experience with and be proficient in automated processes, especially with accounting systems and can evaluate and make recommendations for improvement and efficiency through automation.
