EMAR Insurance is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to manage a book of large and complex commercial accounts. This position is responsible for overseeing the complete account-management process, including renewals, marketing, coverage analysis, binding, and ongoing client service.
The Account Manager will work closely with clients, agency leadership, carrier underwriters, and wholesale brokers to develop appropriate insurance programs and keep every account moving on schedule.
Job Responsibilities
Manage an assigned book of large and complex commercial accounts
Serve as a primary contact for clients, carrier underwriters, and wholesale brokers
Lead the renewal process from the initial exposure review through binding
Gather applications, property schedules, loss information, payrolls, sales figures, and other underwriting data
Prepare complete and accurate new-business and renewal submissions
Market accounts to standard carriers, wholesale brokers, and surplus lines markets
Review and compare quotations, coverage forms, exclusions, deductibles, limits, and premiums
Prepare detailed renewal proposals and coverage comparisons for clients
Identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
Coordinate commercial property, general liability, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, umbrella, and excess liability coverage
Assist with layered property and excess liability programs when required
Handle endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, billing matters, cancellations, and claims assistance
Review policies and endorsements for accuracy after issuance
Track subjectivities, signatures, payments, inspections, and other binding requirements
Maintain complete and accurate documentation in the agency-management system
Monitor renewal timelines and follow up on outstanding items well in advance of expiration
Build strong relationships with clients, underwriters, wholesalers, and other insurance partners
Provide timely, accurate, and professional service throughout the policy term
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of commercial lines account management experience
Experience managing large, middle-market, or complex commercial accounts
Strong knowledge of commercial property, general liability, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella/excess liability
Ability to read and understand policy forms, endorsements, exclusions, limits, and deductibles
Experience managing the complete renewal process from gathering exposure information through binding
Experience preparing carrier submissions, reviewing quotations, and presenting coverage comparisons
Familiarity with wholesale brokers, surplus lines placements, and layered insurance programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
High level of accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple complex accounts and deadlines independently
Professional and confident when working with clients, underwriters, and wholesale brokers
Comfortable using agency-management systems, carrier portals, and Microsoft Office
Active Florida 2-20 insurance license, or the ability to obtain the appropriate license
Experience with real estate, construction, hospitality, equine, or multi-state risks is a plus
CISR, CIC, CRM, CPCU, or another professional insurance designation is a plus
