    Mid-Atlantic Women's Care is seeking a Billing and Finance Specialist! The Billing and Finance Specialist is a detail-oriented person responsible for overseeing the complete billing process by the central business office as well as accurate reporting of both OBGYN and MedSpa financial data. This position will be responsible for addressing any billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies as well as accurate input into Excel and or QuickBooks for accurate reporting of financials not directly overseen by the finance committee. This includes special requests by physician partners.

    Essential Functions:

    · Process and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. · Receive and post payments and/or refunds from and to patients accurately. · Responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility. · Creation of obstetric payment plans. · Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and payment options. · Responsible for maintaining billing records logs and documentation. · Collaborate with Practice Administrator and Clinical team to ensure proper coding of services. · Preparation of billing reports and financial data reports. · Assist in audits as needed

    Primary Duties: · Ensuring proper claim management. · Monitor claims, follow up on denials and request for additional information. · Serve the financial data needs of the physician partners in conjunction with the Administrator. · Verify the accuracy of billing data and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. · Ensure billing and coding are compliant with regulations, guidelines and policies. · Contact and assist patients with payment plans and financial options. · Collaborate with front desk staff to obtain necessary information for billing purposes. · Assist in preparing monthly reports. · Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best billing practices.

    Work Environment · Work is performed in a professional healthcare setting. · This position operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. · Exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and toxic substances in the work environment.

    Physical Demands · Ability to lift and move medical equipment and supplies up to 20 pounds · Extended periods of standing and walking. · Manual ability for handling instruments and equipment. Education · Education: High school diploma or equivalent. · Certifications: Billing & Coding Certificate preferred · Preferred education: Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field.

    Experience o Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office with CPT/ICD-10 coding and insurance guidelines. o Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Athena. o Excel, Word, Office Suite, QuickBooks
