  • Responsibilities

    USPI Memorial Hermann Bay Area Endoscopy Center is seeking a motivated Insurance Verifier to join our team. We have 1 OR and 3 Procedure Rooms. We are committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical services in a friendly and caring environment. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Availability for early mornings and late evenings required based on surgical schedule and daily flow.

    Job Duties:

    • Validate and accurately enter patient information into the appropriate computer systems.
    • Verify insurance coverage for all scheduled patients, including last-minute add-ons and direct admissions.
    • Obtain pre-certifications or authorizations from insurance carriers when required.
    • Calculate patient financial responsibility and inform patients of their payment obligations before the date of surgery.
    • Collect payments or set up payment plans when necessary; ensure all arrangements are properly documented.
    • Document insurance verification and related communications in the patient accounting system.
    • Communicate effectively with physician offices, insurance carriers, and patients to ensure all required information is accurate and complete.
    • Assist with additional business office tasks as assigned by the Business Office Manager.

    Required Skills

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of 2 years of insurance verification experience preferably in GI
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage time efficiently and work in a high-paced environment.
    • Proficient in handling inbound and outbound calls professionally.
    • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
    • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
