Disability Claims Analyst

This position reviews, analyzes, evaluates, approves and recommends compensability of short term disability claims. 

PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS NOT FOR HEALTH PLAN CLAIMS PROCESSING.

The process requires the following skills:

·       Strong research skills

·       Problem solving skills

·       Ability to gather medical information to make STD claim determination

·       Ability to work with state and public organizations and insurance carriers to resolve issues

·       Ability to produce concise written correspondence and resolve member insurance issues and/or inquiries

·       Ability to interpret and understand disability policy and provisions and to adjudicate STD claims in accordance with those provisions

In addition, candidate must have:

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Comprehensive math and reading skills

·       Knowledge of medical terminology

·       The ability to organize workload

·       Strong time managements skills

·       Excellent follow through

·       Team oriented attitude

·       Successful completion of a formal disability claims training programs (professional designation preferred) or 3 years of experience processing disability claims 

·       General knowledge of Workers Compensation guidelines
