Intake Counselor / Consultation Lead — View Ridge Law (Seattle, WA) If you went to law school because you wanted to help people through hard moments — and somewhere between billable hours, court deadlines, and difficult opposing counsel that got buried — read on. We're hiring an attorney (or legal-trained professional) to lead initial consultations with prospective clients. You will not practice law. You will not give legal advice. You will not appear in court, draft pleadings, or carry a case file. You do not need an active Washington license. A JD is a plus, not a requirement. What you will do: sit across from people facing divorce, the death of a parent, a guardianship crisis, or a business or employment dispute, and help them decide whether hiring our firm is the right move for them. The job is part counselor, part consultant, part advocate for clarity. We call it sales because that's the honest word for it, but the work looks a lot more like the client counseling section of your law school clinic than anything you'd see on a sales floor. Why an attorney background fits • You already know how to sit with someone in distress and ask hard questions. • You understand the substance of what we do — family law, estate planning, probate, guardianships, employment, business — well enough to spot the issue and explain why it matters. • You can read a person, a fact pattern, and a financial situation and figure out whether we're actually the right fit. • You're comfortable with accountability, deadlines, and being measured by outcomes. Responsibilities: What you'll actually do • Lead consultations (in person and on video) with prospective clients. • Diagnose what they need at a high level, explain what our firm does, and help them decide whether to hire us. • Follow up with people who don't decide on the spot — most don't. • Keep clean records in our CRM. We run on data, not gut feel. • Hand off new clients smoothly to the legal team so the trust you built carries through. • Follow up with clients throughout their journey with our firm What we're not asking you to do • No billable hours. • No legal advice. No representation. No malpractice exposure. • No court, no filings, no opposing counsel. • No carrying a case file home on the weekend. Qualifications: Who this is for You probably have a few years of practice behind you, and you've decided practice isn't the long-term path. Or you're a non-attorney with a strong consultative background — professional services, advisory work, financial planning, counseling — and you're drawn to legal-adjacent work. Either way, you can hold a difficult conversation, you're not afraid to ask for the commitment, and you take ownership of your numbers. Logistics • Based in Seattle with some regular travel to the local satellite office. • In-person and remote consultations are both available. • Full-time. • Base: $80,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience. • Performance pay: Structured incentive for new client enrollments and follow-up care. Top performers materially out-earn the base. • Benefits: Health and retirement. Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 yearly
