    Job Summary

    Around The Clock Ambulance is seeking a detail-oriented Hybrid Intake Specialist to manage ambulance transport requests and serve as a key point of contact for patients, healthcare facilities, and internal dispatch teams. This role hybrid works with on-site coordination in a fast-paced medical environment


    Responsibilities

    • Receive and process emergency and non-emergency transport requests

    • Collect and verify patient demographics, medical necessity, and transport details

    • Coordinate scheduling with dispatch and operations teams

    • Verify insurance information, authorizations, and required documentation

    • Maintain accurate intake records in compliance with HIPAA

    • Communicate professionally with hospitals, nursing facilities, clinics, and families

    • Document calls, updates, and transport changes accurately

    • Support billing and operations with complete intake documentation


    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent (healthcare background preferred)

    • 1+ year of experience in medical intake, healthcare administration, or call center roles

    • Knowledge of ambulance services, NEMT, or medical terminology preferred

    • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills

    • Ability to multitask and remain calm in urgent situations

    • Proficiency with computers, EMR systems, and multi-line phone systems

    • Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality
