    Who We’re Looking For

At Steve Smith Trial Lawyers, the Legal Intake Specialist is more than just the first voice on the phone—you are the front line of our firm. Every client’s journey starts with you. The way you listen, the questions you ask, and the compassion you show can shape someone’s decision to trust us during the most difficult time of their life. This is not a back-office role; it’s a vital, client-facing position that ensures our attorneys have the information they need to fight for justice, while giving clients the reassurance they desperately seek from the very first call.

    What You’ll Do

    Client Communication

Serve as the first professional and empathetic voice for potential clients, answering calls and inquiries.

Put people at ease while guiding them through a difficult, often emotional process.

    Case and Client Data Collection

Conduct structured interviews to gather critical case facts and personal information.

Ask thoughtful follow-up questions to uncover key details and provide attorneys with the full picture.

    Case Screening & Conflict Checks

Assess whether cases align with the firm’s practice areas and meet intake criteria.

Perform conflict-of-interest checks to ensure ethical representation.

    Scheduling & Documentation

Schedule consultations between potential clients and attorneys.

Accurately document all collected information in case management software for attorney review.

    Relationship Building

Build trust from the first interaction, keeping potential clients engaged and confident in our services.

Represent the firm with professionalism, compassion, and care.

    What You Bring

Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze unique legal situations and determine next steps.

Empathy & Patience: Demonstrate understanding and compassion during emotional conversations.

Communication: Strong phone presence; ability to clearly explain processes and gather sensitive information.

Organization & Attention to Detail: Maintain accurate notes, manage appointments, and track data with precision.

Adaptability: Embraces change, open to real-time coaching, and comfortable adjusting approaches as needed.

Ability to Close: Confidently convey the value of a consultation and secure client commitment to move forward.

Technology Proficiency: Confident using legal case management systems, CRMs, and other tech platforms.

Discretion: Handle sensitive and confidential client information with the highest level of integrity.

    Qualifications

A natural “people person” who thrives in conversations and connects easily.

Someone who can balance investigative questioning with genuine compassion.

Previous experience in customer service, legal intake, counseling, or a similar client-facing role is a plus.
