Networking Engineer

As the Networking Engineer, you will play a critical role in implementing and managing network and security infrastructure solutions for our clients. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to deliver dependable, scalable, and secure networking solutions that meet their business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation :

Configure and deploy networking equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points, ensuring proper functionality, performance, and security.

Network Monitoring & Optimization:

• Monitoring clients’ network performance, availability, and security using monitoring tools and techniques, and proactively identify and address issues or potential bottlenecks.
• Optimize network configurations, protocols, and settings to improve performance, reliability, and scalability, and ensure optimal utilization of resources.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Diagnose and resolve network-related issues and outages in a timely and efficient manner, leveraging troubleshooting tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Provide technical support and assistance to clients and internal teams, responding to service requests, escalations, and inquiries related to network infrastructure.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention/systems (IDS/IPS) and access controls, to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches and cyber threats.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, diagrams, procedures, service tickets, and policies to facilitate knowledge transfer, troubleshooting and compliance audits (as needed).
• Share expertise and best practices with the team members through training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance overall technical proficiency and collaboration.

Customer Service & Communication:

• Prioritize customer satisfaction and maintain open lines of communication with clients, ensuring prompt and professional responses to inquiries, concerns, and feedback. Escalate to MSP Team Lead or Service Delivery Manager (as needed).
• Proactively engage with clients to understand their needs, expectations, and challenges, and provide recommendations to address them.

On-Site Visits and Travel:

• Travel to clients’ sites as needed to deliver on-site support, troubleshooting and project implementation. (30 to 40% travel)
• Collaborate closely with clients on-site to assess network infrastructure, address technical issues, and provide hands on-assistance and guidance.

Qualifications:

• An bachelor’s degree in computer science information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in network engineering or administration, with least 2 years of experience in implementing and troubleshooting complex networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing Protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) and VPN technologies.
• Experience with network security principles and technologies, such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM and endpoint security solutions.
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, FCP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Strong technical expertise in networking technologies, including but not limited to routing, switching, firewall, VPN, and wireless networking.
