    he Manufacturing Supervisor leads the company’s shop floor team to create cost-effective and high-quality standard and custom lighting products. On-time delivery, accurate fit and finish, profitability, and plant safety are key metrics for this position. Strong leadership skills are a must.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Oversees the entire manufacturing process from the time the production order hits the shop floor through fabrication, through the assembly department and to the time of shipment. Ensuring timely shipments and high build quality.

    Reporting to the company owner, this role manages daily operations of the 12-person Fabrication department including welding, shearing, press brake, punch press, spinning, and machining. Troubleshoots equipment and tooling issues and develops procedures and processes to improve workflow.

    Deliver results by planning, communicating expectations, and creating and enforcing company policies and procedures.

    Operate in a team environment and thrive in a culture with many long-tenured employees.

    Versatility, hands-on, flexibility, and a willingness to adjust to changing priorities with enthusiasm.

    Work with Engineering and Sales to streamline production and improve products and profitability.

    Research new equipment, tooling, and processes and makes recommendations on purchase, outsourcing, and implementation.

    Supports and generates activities focused on continuous improvement of cost, quality, and on-time delivery performance.

    Maintains a proactive approach and anticipates demands on resources and staffing levels in each department to meet short-term and long-term production goals.

    Oversee all equipment and building maintenance.

    Recruit, hire, train, and coach employees.

    Assist with the union relationship and collective bargaining negotiations. Ensure compliance with union contract, environmental and safety laws, and policies.
