    Job description

    The K.I.D.S. Place is an active childcare center in Rural Kansas that provides early learning opportunities for children with and without disabilities. The KIDS Place is a subsidiary of Integrated Behavioral Technologies, Inc, a nonprofit, 501 (c) 3 organization, that serves children with families across the State of Kansas. IBT operates the KIDS Place, has a psychological assessment clinic located in Basehor, KS, and provides home and community-based interventions across the state.

    We are seeking an Assistant Early Childhood Education Teacher for The K.I.D.S. Place in McLouth, Kansas. As an Assistant Teacher at “TKP”, you will be involved by helping the lead teachers prep activities, create lesson plans, and facilitate a positive learning environment for all children (ages 2 weeks up to 12 years) in their classroom. As an integral part of the facility, an assistant teacher will help provide a structure that every child needs as well as teaching the kids how to foster their creativity and independence.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Must be 16 years of age (High School Degree not required)
    • History of working with children (experience working in a licensed childcare facility preferred)
    • Ability to sit, stoop, and/or bend to low level positions that best allow interactions with the students
    • The ability to lift 40 lbs is strongly desired

    SKILLS

    • Knowledge of child development
    • Methodical and creative
    • Patience, flexible and love for children
    • Strong communication and time management skills
    • Certificate in first aid and CPR (preferred)

    DUTIES

    • Ensure the daily care of each child by following the KDHE guidelines
    • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn
    • Work collaboratively with all teachers to ensure consistency throughout the program
    • Work collaboratively and contribute to daily lesson plans that challenge children at all levels
    • Work with and perform duties assigned by your lead teacher
    • Attend curriculum trainings
