    Hospice Director of Nursing

    We are seeking a Hospice Director of Nursing for a full-time and 100% outpatient opportunity in Portland, Oregon!

    The Director of Nursing (DON) must be capable of compassionate communication and have the observation skills with high ethical standards and knowledge to alert team and doctors about changes in patient conditions. A leader who is self motivated and looks forward to building a team to support the hospice patients in the Portland market with personalized care.

    Compensation Package:

    • Up to $120,000 Salary (Based on Experience)

    Requirements:

    • RN Licensed in the State of Oregon
    • BSN, MSN or other diploma from a nursing program
    • Licensed and insured driver with a reliable automobile
    • 3+ years of management experience in hospice or related healthcare organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional administrative personnel.
    • Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
    • Has excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of business management, state and federal governmental regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM
    • Using EMR Consolo (part of Wellsky) - Training offered 
    • Willing to be on-call as patients and team needs arise - 1 weekend by phone only every 3 or 4 weeks until Hospice team grows and on-call team established 
    • Being hands on clinical in the Portland Metro area
    • Must oversee other RN Case Manager and in-home Hospice staff
    • Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care
    • Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to team and EMR system
    • Collaborate with Medical Director, social worker, chaplain and team regarding patients status and needs.
    • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
    • Monitor patient’s medication needs and provide insight to medical director
    • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
