    Staff Accountant

    The Company:

    The Position: The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. Our client is offering the following compensation and benefits:

    • $52,000 - $58,000 a Year Based on Experience

    Requirements:

    • Graduate of an accredited college with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance.
    • Advanced knowledge of revenue cycle management and related journal entries.
    • Must possess excellent problem-solving, logical, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, with outstanding abilities in Excel a plus.
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a staff accountant or similar role.
    • Experience in a healthcare accounting position preferred.
    • Familiarity with healthcare and/or Community Health Center industry and practices.
    • Understanding Sage Accounting Software is a plus.
    • Software implementation and integration experience is a plus.
    • Level 2 background clearance is required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Generates journal entries, supporting schedules, and G/L reconciliations.
    • Monitors financial activity for Pharmacy contract programs, In House Pharmacies and Medical Programs. Generates reporting and analyzes data.
    • Maintains fixed assets, prepaid expenses, insurance, and accrual schedules and generates monthly entries.
    • Reviews and records Clinical and Pharmacy payments, adjustments, and allowances.
    • Follows the Closing Process Schedule and completes it by the established date.
    • Generates, reviews, and analyzes monthly financial statements for variances and unusual items.
    • Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of Key Performance Indicators and Data Dashboard reporting.
    • Assists in annual audits by preparing assigned reports or providing requested documentation.
    • Manages petty cash, cash receipting and deposit procedures.
    • Supports required governmental and agency reporting.
