    Geriatrician 

    We are seeking a geriatric-focused Adult Medicine Geriatrician for a full-time and 100% outpatient opportunity in Houston, Texas!

    The Geriatrics Physician will be responsible for administering care to adult patients. Primary clinical responsibilities will include the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients. Requesting care for acute issues which may include screening for all chronic diseases. The physician will also supervise mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants) involved in the care of adult patients.

    Compensation Package:

    • $180,000-$250,000 Base Salary (Based Experience)
    • $10,000 Relocation Bonus
    • $10,000 Sign On Bonus
    • 10% Annual Bonus - Based on Salary

    Requirements:

    • Board Certification in Geriatrics
    • Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
    • No On Call, No Weekends, No Late Nights, and No Holidays
    • New Graduates Accepted
    • Current and Active Texas Medical License
    • Seeing 14 Patients Per Day
    • Experience working with a patient population of 65+ and Medicare coding preferred
    • Provider shall obtain, maintain, and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers’ compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, accountable health plan, and other health benefit program requested by Legacy.

    Responsibilities:

    • Initiates an appropriate assessment of a person's health status, ranging from focused to comprehensive Identifying immediate needs that can be supported or the need for a referral for long-term management.
    • Performs physical examinations, performing and documenting a health history as evidenced by chart review and ability for others to understand patient needs.
    • Consult with colleagues, specialists, and other health professionals as appropriate.
    • Orders pertinent diagnostic tests and procedures to support recommended therapy.
    • Supports obtaining or performing specimen collection for commonly performed blood, urine, and stool analyses and cultures.
    • Interprets health information and establishes diagnoses consistent with the accumulated data and formulates treatment plans, ensuring timely provision of necessary health care services.
    • Provides education and ensures understanding of members regarding the nature of the identified acute needs and further opportunities for evaluation and treatment.
    • Participates in the supervision of mid-level providers, including Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants.
    • Educates patients regarding health promotion and disease prevention.
