    The Position:

    As an Audit Manager in Assurance and Advisory (optional remote), you will be responsible for multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining client relationships. Train and develop all levels from staff to senior. Perform business development activities, such as attending networking events and making connections with other professionals in the business community. Identifying and solving engagement and technical issues including convertible debt and adoption of new revenue recognition standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manages and is responsible for all phases of an audit or review engagement on multiple engagements at one time.
    • Maintains contact with clients throughout the year; possesses a thorough knowledge of the client and all facets of the client’s business and control client systems; building and maintaining client relationships.
    • Appraises the engagement director or partner, if applicable, of all important developments on the client account; identifies any potential issues on each engagement and recommends solutions to the audit committee and director.
    • Ensure engagements are properly scheduled.
    • Creating, tracking, and adhering to budgets for assigned assurance and advisory engagements; investigate and explain budget overruns to the director or partner.
    • Reviewing financial statements and other client deliverables.
    • Demonstrating proficiency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional standards.
    • Directing, training, supervising, and reviewing the work performed by senior accountants and staff accountants.

    Qualifications:

    • Approximately five years’ experience in public accounting
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
    • Holds a current and valid CPA’s license.
    • Ability to travel to assigned client locations.
    • Preparing financial statements, footnote disclosures and audit communication letters, including technical memorandums.
    • Identifying, communicating, and solving engagement and technical issues including convertible debt and adoption of new revenue recognition standards.
    • Preparing technical memorandums on complex accounting issues.
    • Analytical procedures on accounting schedules using advanced excel tools.
    • Performing research on complex accounting and audit issues and proposing resolutions.
    • Occasional overtime work is required throughout the year. Heavy overtime work required from January 1 to May 15, may be more than fifty-five hours per week.
