Lead Systems Administrator
MEMPHIS TN - NO REMOTE OPTION, ONSITE FROM DAY ONE
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support and maintain the server operating system environment.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and security best practices.
- Assist with company infrastructure planning, implementation, improvements.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Administer and maintain the backup procedures and processes.
- Provide after-hours coverage for change windows and scheduled processes (i.e. system patching) as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Lead a team of 3 systems administrators
- Mentor other system administrators
- Assign projects to appropriate staff
- Ensure timely completion of assigned projects
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
- Fast turnaround of customer requests.
- Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels.
- Communicate to customers: keeping them informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes, agreed outages, etc.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the IT Services responsibilities and how it relates to business needs.
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
- Work with IT Manager and other support staff to ensure requests are routed to the proper resource in order to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.

- Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network and telecom systems.

- Technical awareness: the ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately.
- Service awareness of all organization’s key services for which support is being provided.
- Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide services.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL/PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE RECOMMENDATIONS:
- 4+ years of IT or related experience.
- 2+ years in a lead role.
