    Our company is hiring a full-time Web Press Operator to join our team in Lancaster. Individuals in this role will be responsible for the set-up and operation of multi-color printing presses in accordance with the specifications and customer requirements and maintain the press and surrounding areas.

    Operations

    • Leads team in operating the Heat Web Press, folder, gluer, and trimmer, cleaning and maintaining equipment, assisting in paper rolls, and performing other assigned duties.
    • Directs the press helper to keep the press running as efficiently as possible, performs the same duties as needed.
    • Works with the Supervisor to see all running samples are pulled, inspected, and initialed while ensuring that sample copies are high quality.
    • Participates in quality control of the finished product (e.g. color, chemistry, water) in an effort to exceed customer expectations and meet deadlines.

    Quality, administrative, and safety

    • Ensures that maintenance activities are thoroughly accomplished and documented.
    • Completes job paperwork in a neat and orderly fashion.
    • Completes all daily and monthly maintenance according to schedule.
    • Keeps equipment, press, and work area clean and orderly.
    • Follows company safety policy and procedures.

    Customer service

    • Identifies route cause, recommends solutions, and brings relevant issues affecting service to the attention of management in a timely fashion.
    • Notifies management of any technical issues which may cause delays or service requests so that they may contact the vendor for a service call.
    • Responsible for relaying any information to the next shift.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED, and at least 3 years print press experience, preferably web press.
    • Proficient technical skills.
    • Demonstrated mathematics skills and ability to read a ruler.
    • Ability to work without close supervision.
    • Ability to read and understand work orders and resolve discrepancies.
    • Demonstrated ability to direct the satisfactory work of others.
    • Attention to detail and high quality are expected.

    Physical requirements and work environment:

    • Performs work required for this position in a manufacturing plant environment.
    • Required to use a computer monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
    • Ability to work extended hours and weekends, as needed.
