    Essential Job Functions

    Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of effective crisis stabilization services; oversee program development, implementation, and continuous improvement to align best practices in crisis intervention; and develop and implement policies and procedures that support high-quality, person-centered crisis care.

    Ensure individuals in crisis receive timely assessment, intervention and stabilization services; promote evidence-based practices, such as trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and risk assessment protocols; collaborate with clinical teams to create individualized crisis stabilization plans that prioritize client safety and recovery; and monitor program effectiveness through outcome measures, data analysis, and service utilization reports.

    Train and supervise a multidisciplinary team; provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities; and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that prioritize staff well-being and effectiveness.

    Build and maintain relationships with community mental health providers, law enforcement, emergency services and local hospitals; represent the crisis stabilization program in community meetings, task forces, and advocacy initiatives; and develop referral pathways to ensure individuals receive appropriate follow-up care and long-term support.

    Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines and participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and effectiveness.

    Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge

    § Crisis Intervention & Crisis Stabilization Practices – Knowledge and understanding of evidence-based crisis response strategies, including de-escalation techniques, risk assessment, and safety planning.

    § Behavioral Health & Mental Health Disorders – In-depth knowledge of diagnostic criteria (DSM-5), trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and severe mental health illness (SMI).

    § Clinical Supervision – Understanding of multidisciplinary team coordination, crisis response models, and person-centered care planning.

    § Case Management & Service Coordination – Knowledge of family support services, risk assessments, and child welfare crisis intervention.

    § Community Resources & Partnerships – Knowledge and familiarity with mental health

    Services, housing assistance, substance use treatment, and domestic violence support available for families.

    § Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) – Knowledge of the privacy rules, compliance requirements, and impact on healthcare operations, particularly in protecting protected health information (PHI).

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s degree Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or a related field, and 3 to 5 years of experience in behavioral health, crisis intervention or emergency mental health services with a least 2 – 3 years in a supervisory or lead role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
