    • Have previous experience from supply chain, logistics and/or import/export operations (preferred)
    • Have a good ability to document and communicate in a clear way, regarding manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and working methods
    • Takes initiative and not hesitant in proposing, developing and implementing solutions and change

     

    ABOUT THE JOB

    The purpose of the job is to provide support in developing the way of working in import and export operations and to identify continual process improvement and when necessary taking into consideration processes, organizations, solutions and technology. The Process Developer works on a regional level (Americas) with a global contribution as needed.  The position will work closely with both the System Support and Customs Operations to develop and secure the implementation of improved processes, working methods and tasks descriptions aimed to increase efficiency, lower costs and improve customer availability within the Customs Americas organization. This position will support the team with the use of technology and software tools (EXCEL, ACCESS, Etc.) to create efficiencies and maintain compliance levels. Position as necessary will work with Global projects and activities in order to ensure smooth transition and incorporation of Global actions into the local processes.

    ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT

    As the Process Developer, you will be an active and integral part of the IKEA team with a large variety of job tasks and assignments. Among other things, you:

    • Actively support Systems Support in day to day activities associated with import and entry documentation and shipment processing
    • Contribute to the identification of processes and process improvements, including working methods and SOPs
    • Are responsible for process, working method, system change, and associated technology solution education
    • Proactively work with Operations, Regional Customs Management team and Systems Support to identify existing or potential concerns and identify immediate, interim and long term operational or technology resolutions to gain efficiencies and improve processes.
    • Support the System Support position in process development and coordination of business IT needs and tests
    • Working with System Support position, verify system changes before put in to production and ensure supporting processes are in place and customs team co-workers trained in new ways of working
    • Responsible for process, working method and associated technology solution education
    • Participate in Project Teams to ensure consist and best practices among Customs Specialists
