IKEA Transport & Logistics Services organization is approximately 500 persons globally with purchase volume of 2.8 billion Euros, working in the category dimension of Land, Ocean and Logistics Services. Each category is responsible to, plan, purchase, operate and follow up the service execution of transports and services. Securing the needed logistics services capacity at the right time, with the right quality, at the right cost and in a sustainable way; to continuously contribute to the goal of having 100% satisfied IKEA customers. The Logistics Services category is a new category and you will be an important key player in building it up.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Business Developer you are a part of the Logistics Services FOOD team and report to the Business Development Manager located in Pratteln, Switzerland.
You have a proven track record in Business Development on Global/Regional level.
You identify commercial opportunities as well as optimization possibilities in regards to distribution and logistics flows across the Americas and lead the implementation of agreed business set-ups.
You are a role model in creating and developing effective relationships with Service Providers that create the frame for development of their performance over time (Price, Precision, Sustainability and Quality).
You contribute to the development of partnership models that will allow IKEA and the Service Providers to develop together.
You are responsible for a defined number of regional service providers in the Americas.
You set and lead the development agenda with them and, in close coordination with internal business network, secure their performance and meeting expectations in all strategic, tactical and operational dimensions.
You strongly contribute to the development of the co-workers within IKEA Transport & Logistics Services.
You contribute to the development of the purchasing process and relevant purchasing concepts. You are an active participant in continuous search for more efficient ways of working in the area of transport business development.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for someone who has wide experience in working with purchasing and business development preferably within Logistics and Distribution.
Experience from other parts of the Supply Chain like Retail or Procurement is very valuable.
You have been successfully developing and handling regional or global businesses from both tactical and strategic perspectives, preferably in multinational environment.
You are fluent in English and you have a University degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration or relevant work experience.
You have strong drive and desire to develop and implement business solutions that deliver results. Business environment of large scales is your natural arena.
You are excellent in building trustful relationships, both internally and externally.
You are able to work in strategic and tactical dimensions.
You are a natural leader both in business and with people.
You are a team player, enjoy to take initiatives and have the ability to organise, structure and prioritize numerous tasks.
You have experience in project and change management.
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
