    About the job:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to help us to be leaders in delivering excellent performance, proudly serving happy IKEA customers. Our team’s objective is to design and implement warehousing solutions and strategies with focus on total supply chain cost whilst fulfilling defined service levels related to logistics capacity, operational excellence, and sustainability.

    As a Service Provider Operations Developer you will secure and continuously improve the logistics service provider’s operational performance in all respects, as defined by a set of relevant Key Performance Indicators, within an agreed framework. You find ways to maximise the optimisation potential related to the logistics service providers’ costs, in close cooperation with relevant supply chain stakeholders.

    Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

    • Secure and follow-up the overall operational performance of our logistics service providers in all aspects (capacity fulfilment, precision, quality, safety, etc.) within your region and responsibility.
    • Implement the new IKEA transport management system within the logistics units and be the entry point for any queries that the service providers may have.
    • Maintain logistics market knowledge, follow industry trends and innovative developments, secure knowledge of relevant cost drivers and legal/ regulatory frameworks.
    • Support RFQ (Request for Quotation) activities, lead the implementation of new logistics units.
    • Monitor and secure the execution of agreed terms and conditions related to operations (perform compliance checks, monitor and follow-up the warehouse operations).
    • Secure and balance the capacity need vs. the optimal capacity based on forecasts and the supply chain need.
    • Lead the continuous improvement process and develop our logistics units with the goal to become more efficient and effective, to contribute to our ambitious goals.
    • Find opportunities for the optimisation of the logistics service provider’s production costs (connecting link between the logistics service provider and internal stakeholders).
    • Follow innovative developments on the market and implement value adding initiatives in our units.

    About you:

    • You have deep knowledge of the logistics industry (contract logistics, warehousing, and distribution), market specific conditions and macroeconomic trends in the North/South American market.
    • You possess a deep knowledge and understanding of the supply chain/ warehousing and its main production costs and cost drivers and you are a good negotiator.
    • You have experience in Supply Chain (incl. logistics) and have led cross functional and cross-cultural projects.
    • Preferred experience with the IKEA Transport Management System.
    • You are proficient in data analytics and have hands on experience in supporting business decision making and driving improvement through data intelligence.
    • You are highly skilled in using tools and programs, such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI, QSense, etc.
    • You are a good communicator and can engage with audiences in both virtual and physical settings.
    • You enjoy interacting with people and you are a team player.
    • You have drive, desire and motivation to improve and always look for better solutions.
    • You can motivate yourself and can organise, structure and prioritise multiple tasks.
    • You are an early adopter in terms of change and you act as a change driver.

    • You have a university degree in logistics, economics, business administration, or relevant working experience from similar position (min. 5 years).

    Additional information:

    This role is a full time (40 hours per week) position, based in King of Prussia, United States and you will be reporting to the Category Manager, Mid-Receiver Units.
