InterMetro Industries is seeking a Process Engineer for our Distribution Center in Murfreesboro, TN. This position supports the continuous improvement of our distribution systems and processes to achieve facility and corporate goals & objectives. In addition, this position will be responsible for representing operations on new product development teams to deliver new products specifically related to distribution and master-packing seamless execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning in order to ensure that products meet quality standards
- Responsible for developing, improving and implementing distribution processes to produce increases in productivity, quality, and capacity.
- Develop and/or review and improve standard operating procedures and work instructions, control plans, etc.
- Oversee and provide technical assistance on start-up of new equipment.
- Evaluate and assist in the development of new technologies, equipment and techniques
- Coordinate & execute project requirements / deliverables with the corporate Information Technology team
- Develop and maintain bills of materials and labor routings for new products and through the engineering change notification process.
- Develop management control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient
- Prepare cost estimates on new products and proposed changes and provide cost analysis comparing solution alternatives.
- Compliance/Legal Responsibility: Possess knowledge and understanding of the Metro Code of Business Ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, or General Engineering
- 1- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma Principles experience preferred
- Must be knowledgeable in problem solving techniques and methodologies (8D, DMAIC, A3, etc.)
- Working knowledge of ERP systems – Oracle experience preferred
- Good communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to create, read and interpret CAD drawings.
- Ability to apply Lean manufacturing tools to new and existing production lines. Develop Value Stream Maps and apply 5S+1.
- Ability to work in a typical office and plant work environment.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Overnight travel as required.
