  • Responsibilities

    Increase project efficiency by effectively developing and adhering to design techniques and processes  Provide technical guidance as a subject matter expert for Electrical Engineering consultative services regarding areas of material selection and design concepts which maintain integrity of all customized products, comply with applicable industry standards and meet client specifications.  Support best in class manufacturing with a focus on cycle time, quality, and value by efficiently maintaining internal department processes and providing professional expertise.  Strengthen Point Eight Power’s reputation and sustainability through decreased operational costs and increased quality by establishing and improving the Electrical Engineering processes to reduce cost and provide new and innovative products.  Increase efficiency and quality by proactively identifying and implementing advanced tools within the engineering and manufacturing departments.  Coordinate with the Estimating Department on a technical basis to ensure accurate quote execution; collaborate with Manufacturing Managers to monitor progress and efficiency on all projects and act as authority a technical expert for electrical-related matters.  Coordinate efforts with Mechanical Engineering and Building Design Departments to ensure all Departments share technical details to develop a finalized design and work together to supply detailed and compliant designs to the client and manufacturing.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, required  Registered Professional Engineer (PE), preferred.

    7 years of Electrical Engineering design experience in the Marine, Heavy Industrial and/or Oil & Gas industries, required.  3 years of electro-mechanical power system design with low voltage, medium voltage, power distribution and controls, and motor control centers (including passive and active arc flash protection), required.

  • Qualifications
    • Thorough knowledge of Corporate/Industry Safety standards;
    • Mass Supervisors License or equivalent (general knowledge of the local building code);
    • Working knowledge of CPM schedule;
    • Working knowledge of cost report and labor production report;
    • Thorough knowledge of corporate quality program;
    • Thorough knowledge of subcontract language;
    • Ability to work with and manage multiple people;
    • Excellent oral communication skills;
    • Basic computer knowledge;
